Building a strong and consistent first-line management team.
It gave me some of the best quality feedback I’ve had in my career.
This was a first class programme – really engaging with time to discuss and share experiences with colleagues something I know we will be able to continue to do.
Corporate Partnerships Manager
Plan has grown considerably over recent years and the challenges they face have also grown.
There was recognition that there was a growing need for strong, consistent management and leadership skills and approaches throughout the organisation.
Designing and delivering a 6 month modular Leadership Development Programme for first line managers which would fit both their organisational needs and time constraints.
The programme included:
A tailor made 360 degree survey to participants and their managers to provide a clear understanding of both their strengths and areas for development.
A series of half day workshops linked to individual KPI’s
- Leadership and EQ – with a focus on performance
- Coaching and mentoring skills
- Workload management
- Personal impact and reputation
- Effective stakeholder management
- People and performance management skills
Action Learning Groups – working alongside the workshops to focus on application, sharing learning and co-coaching.
The programme has made a real difference to Plan’s management approach – its success meant that it was delivered again for Heads of Department and new managers in 2012.
